Papers, 1832-1860.

Bills, receipts, invoices, correspondence, and legal papers relating to the partners Colonel William Lockett and B.G. Lockett, planters from Crawford County, Ga. Invoices for shipments of various materials are chiefly from the Savannah and Albany Railroad, and the South-western Railroad. One letter and a promissory note from 1844 reveal that William Lockett had purchased two cotton gins from Samuel Griswold. Also includes land deeds, and an 1857 contract between the Locketts and a Flemming Law to hire an Afro-American man on the Southwestern Railroad.
